Learn about and give feedback on potential concepts to improve transportation along the U.S. 15 Business (James Madison Highway) corridor from North Main Street to Inlet Road/Normans Lane in the town of Culpeper and Culpeper County. These potential concepts are part of the ongoing VDOT STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) U.S. 15 Business corridor study.
The Citizen Information Meeting will be held in an “open house” format to present potential concepts and collect feedback from the public. Members of the study team will be available to provide information and answer questions about the potential concepts.
The concepts include intersection modifications, safety improvements, and a shared use path along the study corridor. The concepts aim to improve safety, pedestrian access and traffic operations along the U.S. 15 Business corridor. The concepts are only preliminary and are not scheduled or funded for construction at this time.

Study description
This STARS study will evaluate U.S. 15 Business between N. Main Street and Inlet Road/Normans Lane in the town of Culpeper and Culpeper County. The purpose of the study is to develop and evaluate projects that will improve pedestrian access, improve safety, reduce congestion, and improve transit access.

Study history
In 2023, VDOT held an online public survey, which was open between May 26 and June 9. This public survey was geared towards helping the study team understand the existing issues with pedestrian access, traffic safety, congestion and transit access within the study area.
