Overnight Lane Closures For Paving On I-66 East Inside The Beltway This Week
Travel lanes will shift to new pavement as I-66 Eastbound Widening Project progresses
UPDATE (8/14) -- Maintenance paving scheduled for Wednesday through Friday nights (8/14-16) has been shifted from I-66 West to I-66 East between George Mason Drive and Spout Run Parkway. This maintenance work is planned to continue on both sides of I-66 during overnight periods through October.
FAIRFAX – Overnight closures of two left lanes on I-66 East between the Dulles Connector Road and Exit 69 (Washington Boulevard/Lee Highway) begin this week, while crews mill and pave the left lane and inside shoulder (closest to the Metro tracks). The closure will be from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday through Friday nights, with additional nights next week. Following completion of the paving work, about two miles of I-66 East will be shifted to the new pavement so that I-66 Eastbound Widening Project work can progress on the right lane and shoulder.
