Dulles Toll Road & Dulles Airport Access Road Ramps to I-495 South Overnight Closures June 24-28
I-495 South lane closures and Scotts Crossing Road closures also scheduled for Jones Branch Connector work, detours in place
TYSONS – The ramps from the eastbound Dulles Toll Road and the eastbound Dulles Airport Access Road to the southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) general purpose lanes will be closed nightly Monday night, June 24 through Friday night, June 28 for bridge work as part of the Jones Branch Connector project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The overnight closures will occur from 10 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning.
Due to the ramp closures, the following detours will be in place:
- Eastbound Dulles Toll Road to southbound I-495 general purpose lanes: Eastbound Dulles Toll Road and southbound Route 123 (Exit 19A) back to the southbound I-495 general purpose lanes.
- Eastbound Dulles Airport Access Road to southbound I-495 general purpose lanes: Northbound I-495 and westbound Route 193 (Exit 44) back to the southbound I-495 general purpose lanes.
Eastbound Dulles Toll Road traffic will still be able to access the southbound 495 Express Lanes.
Scotts Crossing Road
Scotts Crossing Road between Jones Branch Drive and the 495 Express Lanes will be closed Monday night through Friday night from 10 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning.
Due to the Scotts Crossing Road closure, the following detours will be in place:
- 495 Express Lanes to Jones Branch Drive via Scotts Crossing Road: Scotts Crossing Road, Route 123, Tysons Boulevard, Galleria Drive and Westpark Drive back to Jones Branch Drive
- Northbound Jones Branch Drive to 495 Express Lanes via Scotts Crossing Road: Jones Branch Drive, Westbranch Drive and Westpark Drive back to the 495 Express Lanes.
- Southbound Jones Branch Drive to 495 Express Lanes via Scotts Crossing Road: Jones Branch Drive and Westpark Drive back to 495 Express Lanes.
- Southbound Route 123 to Southbound 495 Express Lanes via Scotts Crossing Road: Route 123, Tysons Boulevard, Galleria Drive and Westpark Drive back to the 495 Express Lanes.
- Northbound Jones Branch Drive to Route 123 via Scotts Crossing Road: Jones Branch Drive, Westbranch Drive, Westpark Drive, Galleria Drive and Tysons Boulevard back to Route 123.
- Southbound Jones Branch Drive to Route 123 via Scotts Crossing Road: Jones Branch Drive, Westpark Drive, Galleria Drive and Tysons Boulevard back to Route 123.
- Southbound Route 123 to Jones Branch Drive via Scotts Crossing Road: Route 123, Tysons Boulevard, Galleria Drive and Westpark Drive back to Jones Branch Drive.
The ramps from the northbound and southbound 495 Express Lanes to Scotts Crossing Road will remain open and traffic will still be able to access Route 123 via eastbound Scotts Crossing Road. Route 123 traffic will still be able to access the northbound 495 Express Lanes via westbound Scotts Crossing Road.
I-495 South Lane Closures
The southbound I-495 general purpose lanes will have multiple lane closures Monday night through Thursday night, June 27 between 10 p.m. each night and 5 a.m. the following morning. On Monday night and Tuesday night, the two left lanes of southbound I-495 will be closed from just before the Scotts Crossing Road overpass to just after the overpass; on Wednesday night and Thursday night, the two right lanes will be closed from just before the overpass to just after.
The southbound 495 Express Lanes will remain open during the double lane closures.
The Jones Branch Connector project partially opened to traffic in December with final completion this fall.
