Evans named VDOT Lynchburg District Technician of the Year
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Clinton Evans, equipment service technician I at the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Lynchburg District Equipment Shop, has been named the district’s 2021 Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) Foundation Technician of the Year.
Employed by VDOT for three years starting as an equipment operator at the Madison Heights Area Headquarters, Evans was nominated for the honor by his supervisor, Kenneth M. Harris. Harris cited examples from Evans’ internal customers sharing stories of how Evans’ efforts have saved VDOT, and, therefore, the public, time and money by successfully diagnosing and addressing issues in a timely and fiscally-responsible manner.
Evans attended Clearview Christian School in Rustburg, Va.
The AEMP Foundation Technician of the Year Award is presented annually to “elevate the stature of the career” and “bring awareness to the critical issue of the technician shortage found across the entire industry.
