DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD ON PROPOSED PLANS FOR ROUTE 58 AT SNOWDEN STREET SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN CHESAPEAKE
Public invited to provide feedback on plans

CHESAPEAKE – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing in-person June 13, 2023, to share information and receive feedback on the proposed design plans to enhance safety on Route 58 at West Military Highway and Snowden Street in Chesapeake.  

The proposed project includes permanently closing the existing median on Route 58 and south access at West Military Highway in the vicinity of Snowden Street by utilizing updated pavement markings and signage, as well as extending guardrail. 

The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review the project exhibits on display, meet with VDOT representatives and provide input. The public hearing will be an open-house format meeting with no formal presentation. Media are invited to attend.
