EXPECT DAYTIME DELAYS ON NORRIS BRIDGE MONDAY, SEPT. 25-FRIDAY, OCT. 13
Route 3 will be reduced to one-way, alternating traffic between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on weekdays for the scheduled annual inspection of Norris Bridge
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – An annual inspection of the Robert O. Norris Bridge will begin on Monday, Sept. 25.
Route 3 travelers can expect brief daytime delays crossing the bridge over the Rappahannock River between Lancaster and Middlesex counties for an estimated three weeks.
Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays, through Friday, Oct. 13, a portion of the bridge will be reduced to a single travel lane.
Automated flagging devices will direct traffic through the work zone. Flagging crew members operate the devices, which can be rapidly adjusted to respond to congestion or incidents on the bridge.
Lane closures have been scheduled weather permitting. Message boards will be posted at both bridge approaches to alert travelers to upcoming work zones.
