EXPECT WEEKDAY DELAYS AT NORRIS BRIDGE IN OCTOBER
Routine, scheduled bridge inspection will be underway over four weeks, starting Monday, Oct. 5

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 3 travelers crossing the Rappahannock River between Lancaster and Middlesex counties can expect daytime delays at the Robert O. Norris Bridge during October to allow crews to perform a routine, scheduled bridge inspection.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on the Norris Bridge on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, Oct. 5. Inspection crews will be working on weekdays for four consecutive weeks, through Friday, Oct. 30, weather permitting.

Automated flagging devices will direct one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone when the inspection is underway.

Message boards will be placed at both bridge approaches to notify motorists of the upcoming bridge inspection and lane closures.
