5:10 P.M. UPDATE: Both Route 3 eastbound lanes are now open near the Blue & Gray Parkway intersection in Stafford County. The ramp from Blue & Gray Parkway toward Route 3 eastbound and King George County remains closed due to a crash and lumber spill, but traffic departing the City of Fredericksburg can use the Blue & Gray Parkway intersection at Route 3 to turn right at the traffic signal and proceed east.

4:13 P.M. UPDATE: Both westbound lanes of Route 3 in Stafford County are open at the Blue & Gray Parkway intersection.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Motorists should expect travel delays and lanes closures at the Route 3 and Route 3 Business (Blue and Gray Parkway) interchange in Stafford County's Ferry Farm area this afternoon due to an overturned truck that has spilled lumber across travel lanes. 

Currently, a single lane of eastbound Route 3 is being directed past the scene by law enforcement. Both westbound lanes of Route 3 are open.  

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area through this evening rush hour if possible, as intermittent traffic stops and lane closures will be needed to remove the lumber. Drivers should remain alert for emergency response vehicles and workers, and follow traffic control direction at the scene. 

Currently, the ramp from Route 3 eastbound (Blue & Gray Parkway) toward King George County is closed. Law enforcement are directing eastbound traffic around the ramp closure through the Blue & Gray Parkway intersection with Route 3.
